Twitter accounts with 33 high-profiles were compromised On January 5, 2009, after the guessing of the Twitters administrator’s password by a dictionary attack. False tweets—including the drug-related and sexually explicit messages—were then delivered from the accounts.

On June 11, 2009 beta version of the verified accounts was launched by the Twitter for allowing the notable or famous individuals to make clear of their own personal Twitter accounts. They introduced some badges to verify these personal accounts in the home pages.

Rapid growth of the twitters in 2007 resulted a traffic overloads in outages. Many journals and the Daily’s view were of a mixed kind regarding this situation. But for the fans here, were happy as it was a better way to be in touch with their busy friends. On the other hand there were also views and comment, complaining about the “too” connected and odd hours mails.

During the U.S presidential campaign in 2008, candidates used the Twitter through the race. Barack Obama, the Democratic Party nominee used it for the sake of its publicity.     The campaign of the Nader-Gonzalez   updated its team of ballot access in real-time with the Twitter and Google Maps. There was the increase of 43 percent in use of the Twitter   on the day of election of United States’ 2008.

On an another case of James Buck on April 10, 2008,    graduate journalism graduate student of University of California with his translator named Mohammed Maree, were taken into custody in Egypt for the cause of  photographing a protest against the   government

On the way to police station Buck send the massages to his 48 “followers” as “Arrested” on the Twitter using his mobile phone. Then those followers made contact with the University of .California, Berkeley, number of press related organizations and the U.S. Embassy in Cairo on his behalf. Being detained Buck was able to send the updates about his situation. He was then released from the Mahalla jail; the very next day after the hiring of a lawyer for him by the college.

There was a research report in May2008, on the New Scientist about the fastest aid provided by Twitter during the cases of emergency than the earlier emergency services of the government or the traditional media groups.

The study also reveals that those using the Twitter during heavy fires in October 2007 in California, kept their “followers” mostly were neighbor and friends informed of their conditions and location of the various fire services minute by minute. Organizations like American Red Cross, which support the relief during the disaster days, also started using the favors of   Twitter for the immediate exchange of the minute-to-minute information along with the static’s and the directions.

Media outlets also began to use the Twitter as a mode of public sentiment on various issues. During the coverage of the federal election of Canada on October 14, 2008 by CNBC News television, the CBC cited some tweets regarding the Stephane Dion and Elizabeth May along with a static of items produced on Twitter as the evidence that public were calling for Dion to move down regarding  the election results.
